Blog Post: Celebrate Your Employees

Helping your employees survive a layoff has been the topic of many discussions and other blogs I have written.  I feel we need to "skip the pity party" and help the employees who remain in the company become top performers who can raise the knowledge bar for the company!  Some techniques I have recommended help the company take a proactive approach include:

• Get the feedback from employees on what they can do to move the company forward.
• Help the employees find value in learning new skills and cross-training within other areas of the company.
• Make it safe for employees to share their knowledge and skills with others.
• Help them find ways to mentor less-experienced employees.
• Give handshakes of appreciation when warranted and be generous with your compliments
• Celebrate the employee achievements.
